笠原恵実子 オファーリング Offering by KASAHARA Emiko

笠原恵実子の作品は、オファーリング、と名付けられている。

オファーリングとは、キリスト教で、寄付を募る行為。笠原は、およそ10年をかけて世界各地の寄付を募る箱の写真を撮り続けた。

メイン会場の横浜美術館には、木製の寄付箱が置かれていて、新港ピアには、数多くの写真が展示されていた。

寄付を募るということの裏には、社会の不平等が想定されている。富んでいる人が、貧しい人に寄付を施す。

それにしても、その箱が作られた国や地域によって、いろいろな形の箱が作られているのが面白い。

キリスト教というものの、あるいは宗教というものの、多面的な側面を考えさせる展示だ。
