レイ・ブラッドベリ『華氏451度』 Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

今回のトリエンナーレのアーティスティック・デレクターの森村泰昌が、テーマを決めるにあたり取り上げたのが、レイ・ブラッドベリの『華氏451度』というSF小説だった。

1953年に出版された小説で、本を読むこと、そして、記憶することを禁じられた未来社会が舞台となっている、いわゆる、反ユートピア小説。

森村は、その作品から、忘却、という言葉を取り上げて、このトリエンナーレのテーマを”華氏451の芸術”とした。

このトリエンナーレの開催に合わせて、書店でこの書物を買い求めた。

トリエンナーレと連動するように、この本も新訳版が発売されていた。帯には、ヨコハマトリエンナーレ2014の広告まで付いている。

この作品が書かれた1950年代。アメリカは、ジョセフ・マッカーシーによるマッカーシー旋風が吹き荒れ、共産主義者たちは、非国民として迫害されていた。

ブラッドベリの作品には、当時のそうした状況が、色濃く反映されている。

果たして、ヨコハマトリエンナーレ2014には、どんな現在の状況が反映されているだろうか？

Took up Yasumasa Morimura of artistic director of Triennial of this time, Upon determining the theme, was a SF novel by Ray Bradbury called "Fahrenheit 451".

The novel was published in 1953, and that, read a book, future society forbidden to be stored has become a stage, so-called, anti-utopian novel.

By taking the words from his work, forgetting that, Morimura, was "The Art of Fahrenheit 451" the theme of this Triennial.

To match the holding of this Triennial, and I bought this book in bookstores.

And to work with the Triennale, new translation version was been released also this book. The band, advertising of Yokohama Triennale 2014 until attached.

1950s this work was written. The United States, McCarthy whirlwind by Joseph McCarthy is raging, communists who had been persecuted as a traitor.

The works of Bradbury, such a situation at the time, has been strongly reflected.

Really, the Yokohama Triennale 2014, the status of any current or would have been reflected?
